I created this blog to document my numerous creative cooking adventures. I try to experiment with different cuisines using local Nigerian substitute(where available).I think the word that qualifies most of my recipe is "Glocal" I make both indigenous and continental meals that incorporates mostly ingredients I can find within my environment. Don't expect to find complicated recipes here just simple homemade meals.

Suya and Suasage Shawarma
Have you ever craved for suya and pita bread? I recently craved for both.
I thought about eating both of them just like eating suya and bread but it didn't call to me ... what would that taste like?? Donno!!!
I thought of so many ways to make a meal out of suya and pita bread without making shawarma. All the ideas that came to me didn't make me drool. Finally I had to give up and settled for a shawarma that I made with suya. I added chicken suasage for a more meaty meal. It was delicious, the suya and chicken combined beautifully well.
This was super easy to make and it made a great dinner for my family. Below is the list of ingredients
Ingredients
Pita or Lebanese bread
Suya (lots of suya)
Chicken sausage, 2 for each shawarma
Shredded Cabbage, Lettuce, Carrots
Slices Tomatoes
Lettuce
Sliced Onions
Mayonnaise
Ketchup
Salt
1. Gently fry the chicken sausage in a tablespoon of oil, set aside
2. Cut the suya into tiny bits
3. Lay a pita bread flat on a clean surface put the suya to one corner of the bread add the sausage on the same side.
4. Put the veggies on top the meat
5. One neat trick I do with the mayonnaise is to add a bit of sprite to the mayonnaise mix it up.
6. Drop dollops of mayonnaise with a little ketchup on the meat, roll from the side that has the meat to the other side.
7. Tuck one end of the bread and place on top of a sandwich press for about 2 minutes.
